By Susan Ashby They say that a citys entertainment and recreational options speak volumes about that citys prospects as a desirable and rewarding place to live. If such were the case, then Manchesters vibrant entertainment options certainly speak volumes about the joy of living in this fine, fun-filled city. Manchester is an absolute standout when one considers the depth and breadth of its entertainment options in the field of art, cinema, dance, music, theatre, museums, sports and the performing arts. Take for example the Lowry at Salford Quays, inaugurated in 2000 at a cost of 21m, courtesy of the National Lottery fund. Located near the Imperial War Museum North and the Old Trafford football stadium, The Lowry is best known for keeping the biggest collection of L.S. Lowrys original paintings. Art is its soul, they say, but the Lowry has more to offer than just art. It also houses two theatres that regularly feature touring plays as well as musicians and comedians. These are the Lyric, believed to have the largest stage in the United Kingdom, outside of Londons West End, and the Quays. Located at the city centre, the Whitworth Art Gallery regularly stages eye-opening, innovative exhibitions and houses over 31,000 great modern pieces, including paintings by Constable, Turner and other masters. The gallery has an impressive collection of watercolours, wallpapers and textiles. Among its most famous pieces is the marble sculpture Genesis by Sir Jacob Epstein. Cornerhouse on Oxford Road is renowned for its contemporary and cutting-edge multi-media visual art displays. Since it opened in October 1985, the centre has established itself as a venue for artistic experimentation and innovation. When it comes to contemporary dance performances, Dancehouse Theatre, home of the Northern Ballet School, stages regular performances all year round. The Lowry and the Green Room also stage dance performances throughout the year. Manchester has a diverse array of musical offerings as well, ranging from classical and opera to pop, rock and jazz. Bridgewater Hall is the seat of classical music in Manchester and home to the Halle Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata as well as a regular venue of the BBC Philharmonic. The citys best professional musicians are usually products of the Royal Northern College of Music where they were trained to compose and perform musical scores, jazz concerts and opera arias, among others. Musically gifted children are taught the finer points of their craft at Chethams School of Music and these prodigies perform free lunchtime concerts for the public. On the other hand, the citys leading proponents of pop, rock and jazz converge at Manchester Academy, Labatts Apollo, Band on the Wall and Roadhouse. You will find well-known indie and dance bands at Manchester Academy while Labatts Apollo regularly hosts a diverse array of famous British and American singers as well as Asian superstars. Band on the Wall has nightly blues and jazz jam sessions while the musical stars of tomorrow hone their skills at the Roadhouse, a dark and sweaty basement venue. Numerous bars, pubs and nightclubs throughout the city host their own in-house live bands. In addition, Manchester has many museums that chronicle not only the citys rich history but also important milestones and landmarks of the United Kingdom and the world. For example, the Manchester Museum, which is owned by the University of Manchester, features over six million items from seven continents, including carvings from India, ancient Egyptian crafts from Africa, age-old art from the Mediterranean, fossils from Australia, pottery from the Americas and much more, including a fossilized Tyrannosaurus Rex from South Dakota. Meanwhile, the Museum of Science and Industry is concerned with science, technology and industry, especially Manchesters significant contributions in these areas, particularly in textiles, computing, communications, sewerage and sanitation. The People's History Museum, located on The Pump House on Bridge Street, traces Manchester's social culture, particularly with regard to the history of working people in the United Kingdom over the past 200 years. Manchester's other notable museums include the Greater Manchester Police Museum, Imperial War Museum North, Manchester Jewish Museum, Pankhurst Centre, Urbis and The Gallery of Costume. Manchester also has a dazzling array of clubs and nightspots for the local party people (check out the separate article on this website). Among the most popular venues are Rock World (rock n roll and heavy metal), South, Phoenix and Paradise Factory (techno, trance and funky house); Prague V (gay friendly) and student-oriented venues such as Club Underground, The Ritz, The Brickhouse and 5th Avenue. The theatre scene in Manchester is alive and well. The larger venues include the Palace Theatre, the Royal Exchange Theatre and the Manchester Opera House, which regularly hosts West End touring shows. Although relatively small and located at the basement of the Central Library, the Library Theatre has received glowing critical reviews for staging the works of modern playwrights. Other notable smaller theatres include the Green Room, Contact Theatre and Dancehouse. The Royal Northern College of Music has four theatre spaces for opera and classical music. In addition, Manchester has two widely-respected drama schools: the Manchester Metropolitan University School of Theatre and the Arden School of Theatre. Article by Susan Ashby of Manchester Singles. The Ideal of Religious Tolerance
By Richard Pettinger Despite the continued presence of religious fanaticism and bigotry in the word, the twentieth century has witnessed a significant growth in religious tolerance. The idea that different religions and spiritual traditions have a valid approach is more widespread than at any time. To a large extent up until the 19th Century a defining feature of religion was the idea of the one true religion, and through its adherence you were either saved or damned. There was little if any ecumenical tradition and views of other religions were often clouded in myth, superstition or even contempt. However the ideal of religious harmony is however increasingly shared by many. This essay offers a short look at how religious tolerance has become more widespread A crucial event in shaping a more pluralistic, tolerant view of religions was the inaugural World Parliament of Religions in 1893. As part of the Chicago exhibition it was decided to invite participants from all the main religions. Some suggest the Parliament was founded in the expectation of proving the superiority of Christianity over the other religions. This may or may not have been a partial motive, but the idea of inviting representative from different religions was a relative novel concept and an outreach towards greater tolerance. The World Parliament of Religions could possibly have passed into relative anonymity had it not been for the participation of the young Hindu monk Swami Vivekananda. Vivekananda was a direct disciple of Sri Ramakrishna a great saint from Bengal, India. Under his guidance Vivekananda had learnt, practised and embodied the ancient ideals of Vedanta. Foremost Sri Ramakrishna was a devotee of Mother Kali, but after realising the highest spiritual experience in his own sadhana (spiritual discipline) he was inspired to practise with great devotion, the religious and spiritual disciplines of other religions and sects. Thus Ramakrishna was able to proclaim with the inner certainty of direct experience that all religions led to the same goal. For Ramakrishna the unity of all religions was not just a philosophical idea it was something he had realised and experienced himself. As the spiritual successor to Ramakrishna it was fitting that Vivekananda would be able to make such a positive impression on the Parliament of World Religions. In Vivekananda the audience felt a sincere spirituality a religious feeling that was not confrontational but all-inclusive. At his inaugural address Vivekananda began his immortal address with the words sisters and brothers of America (1) Spontaneously the 4,000 audience rose to their feet in appreciation for the sentiments and spirit of his lofty message. Vivekananda continued. It fills my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in response to the warm and cordial welcome which you have given us... Swami Vivekananda was chosen to represent Hinduism however he did not try to prove the superiority of his religion. Instead Vivekananda spoke with great sincerity about the harmony of world religions and the common spirituality of humanity. It was this universal message of oneness which captivated the audience. As different streams, having their sources in different places, all mingle their water in the sea, so, O Lord, the different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee. Vivekananda proved to be an eloquent exponent of Vedanta and the ideals of all religions. In addition people felt in this handsome and striking Monk a calm detachment, a luminous personality and genuine spirituality. Unexpectedly Vivekananda proved to be the star of the World Parliament of Religions 100 years later another World Parliament of Religions was held in Chicago. The aim was to commemorate the historic Parliament 100 years ago and also to renew the commitment to interfaith dialogue. Since then there have also been Parliaments convened in Cape Town 1999 and Barcelona 2004. In Chicago and Barcelona the opening meditation was led by Sri Chinmoy. Speaking of his meditations Sri Chinmoy said During my Opening Meditation I am praying for the oneness of all religions.(2) Like Vivekananda, Sri Chinmoy comes from India and since his arrival in United States in 1964 he has sought to spread a message of unity and oneness between people of different faiths. Sri Chinmoy is also the founder of the World Harmony Run; a global relay run seeking to offer a dynamic way of bringing people together in harmony and oneness. To Sri Chinmoy religious tolerance is of great importance but also suggests tolerance is not the highest ideal, we can go beyond tolerance to feel a oneness and sympathy with other religions in the knowledge all religions are a reflection of the Ultimate Truth I fully agree that all religions lead to one truth, the Absolute truth.

Total Cholesterol: How Is It Calculated-What Do Numbers Mean
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Athlyn_Green] Athlyn Green In considering total cholesterol, the most common number you will be given will be your total blood cholesterol. While this reveals the amount of cholesterol in your blood, this is not the whole story. Other factors are important, such as low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels and the ratio between your total and HDL cholesterol. If you are wondering how certain numbers are arrived at or how to calculate total cholesterol, most tests actually measure: Blood cholesterol
LDL cholesterol
HDL cholesterol
Triglycerides Guidelines suggest that if you are at higher risk for heart disease or stroke, your target levels should be lower for LDL and for your total cholesterol to HDL ratio. What numbers are relevant if you are wondering how to calculate total cholesterol? Total cholesterol should be less than 200 mg/dL
Your LDL should be less than 130 mg/dL
Your HDL should be 60 or higher
Your total cholesterol/HDL ratio should be less than 5.0
Your triglycerides should be less than 150 Who Should Be Tested? Men over 40
Women over 50
Post-menopausal women
Diabetics
Those with high blood pressure
People who are obese (especially in the abdominal area)
Men having erectile difficulties
Smokers
Persons who have an inherited genetic predisposition When deciding upon target levels for you, your doctor will take into consideration your age, gender, blood pressure, and whether you smoke or have diabetes. These are all factors that might increase your risk of heart attack or stroke. In undertaking how to calculate total cholesterol, tests will help your doctor to determine amounts and what steps may be needed to safeguard your coronary health. Your doctor will discuss lifestyle changes or use of medication to bring about necessary adjustments to blood levels. In evaluating your total cholesterol/HDL cholesterol ratio, it is important to remember that HDL aids the body in eliminating cholesterol. Adopting habits that boost levels of HDL can make a significant difference. When considering [http://www.healthy-cholesterol-guide.com/ldl_cholesterol.html] how to calculate total cholesterol, it may also be helpful to remember that another ratio is LDL/HDL. This is actually a purer ratio because LDL is a measure of bad cholesterol and HDL is a measure of good cholesterol. Accordingly, lifestyle changes should also seek to lower LDL levels. Finally, total cholesterol is the sum of HDL, LDL, and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). Indeed, adding up the HDL, LDL and VLDL makes up the total cholesterol measurement. Heart-Friendly Tips For Managing HDL And LDL Eat white meat and reduce or eliminate consumption of red meats
Remove skin and fat from chicken
Switch to low-fat dairy products, dressings, and mayonnaise
Make eating grains, fruit, and vegetables a regular part of your eating plan
Include seeds and nuts
Eat beans
Consume fatty fish
Switch to olive, nut, or seed oils Other Lifestyle Changes Exercise regularly
Reduce stress
Stop smoking
Cut down on coffee Other strategies include using natural remedies to balance and correct undesirable cholesterol levels. Plant compounds can be as effective or exceed statin drugs. Plant phytochemicals, polyphenols, sterols, flavonoids, catechins (antioxidant plant metabolites), and oils render significant beneficial effects, without the risk of unwanted and painful reactions associated with cholesterol-lowering drugs. Policosanol is derived from sugar cane and is known to reduce LDL and raise HDL; lecithin oil is used for treatment of high cholesterol; vitamin E is used for treating atherosclerosis; oryzanol rice bran oil contains beneficial phytosterols (phytochemicals) with their cholesterol-lowering properties. In fact, many products are now being enriched with phytosterols. Another substance is green tea, which has been used for its medicinal properties for centuries. It is chock full of beneficial catechin polyphenols. Research reveals that green tea lowers total cholesterol levels and improves the ratio of good (HDL) to bad (LDL). It also inhibits abnormal formation of blood clots, which is significant because thrombosis is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke. Making lifestyle changes and using natural substances can be safe approaches to managing blood cholesterol levels and safeguarding your health. Always seek out appropriate medical advice. Fat Loss Follies The 3 Most Common Workout Blunders
By Brad Howard As we approach the New Year, people from all walks of life begin to find themselves and commit to getting in better shape. However, a grand many of these people wont make it to February. As a country, weve been conditioned to think that there is an easy way to everything but in fact, this might be the biggest misconception ever. Therefore, Ive assembled the 3 most common reasons that most people fail when it comes to radically improving their lifestyle. The 3 Most Common Pitfalls No Burning Desire This is number one by far. Of all of the people that quit on themselves, this reason alone stands heads above every other reason for failure. People just dont know why they are even attempting to get in better shape. Without a why, there can never be a how. In my experience, individuals that have had life changing experiences (heart attack, divorce, etc) seem to have a more defined why and thus, nearly always achieve better results. Do yourself a favor and think of your ultimate reason why. Does it involve your kids? Does it involve meeting the person of your dreams? Or, does it just involve feeling better about yourself? Heres an easy solution: think of the most painful situation you can think of that revolves around you NOT getting in better shape thats your best lever. Lack of a defined goal Most people approach fitness in a rather haphazard way. Instead of focusing on changing one small thing, they try to focus on many things at once. Pick one goal. Make it small. Instead of I want to lose 50 pounds, lets concentrate on losing 5 lbs first. Instead of saying I want to stop smoking, eat better, exercise, etc, focus on just one thing. Another thing, eating better is not a defined goal. Its not measurable nor is it specific. Dont just say I want to be in better shape, say I want to lose 2 inches off my waist. Be specific and laser in on one goal at a time. No Consistency A simple plan performed consistently will get you results. The consistent person wins this race. Put in the time, its not going to happen overnight but the person that exercises on a regular basis will get to take advantage of compounding. Or course, you understand the power of compound interest when it comes to retirement. Well, exercise works in much the same way. As you can see, the process of getting in shape starts and ends in the mind. What you are doing will never be as important as why. Figure out your why, map out one specific goal, and be consistent, and youll be where you want to be in no time. Brad Howard's Stone Cold Truth delves into the "meat and potatoes" of all of the misinformation generated by the diet and fitness industry today. Find out if Tom Venuto's #1 Best Selling Book, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle, can stand up in this controversial review site.

Scrapbooking Yourself as an Individual, Homemaker, Worker, and More
By Fion Lim From age 25 onwards, our grand adventure has just unfolded as we embrace adulthood. Here's where you experienced first-hand the lessons of life and be prodded along to grow up in the face of challenges. By scrapbooking about yourself as an adult, you'll have scrapbook pages reminding you on how far you've come and the important aspects of your life. Not only will your scrapbooks offer clarifying thoughts on where your goals are, you'll also become more certain of yourself as an individual. Then as you flip through these scrapbooks about you, you'll fondly recall once again the journey you've traveled. And these scrapbooks could well offer invaluable insights and lessons to be learned by your grandchildren. "Wow, Granny Thelma led such a colorful life and she's one gutsy woman!" For firm ideas on how to scrapbook about yourself, continue reading on the various themes you can put your fingers on. Unique Being "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved."
- Helen Keller Scrapbooking about your character is a delightful theme to work on as you wrap yourself up in the project. Here's where you don on your thinking cap and investigate into the depths of your own character. The knowledge that there'll never be anyone exactly like you will give you the added oomph to scrapbook about yourself. Dwell on the positive traits you see in yourself. These pages could well serve as lessons for your future generations, as important traits they could model after you. Are courage, enthusiasm, personal growth, fun-loving, determination among your best traits? What other positive qualities you carry within you? List down all your best qualities. Put down all your outstanding traits on a single or double-spread scrapbook page. Alternatively, you can go in-depth and dedicate a page to each of your best qualities, highlighting occasions or events when you've exhibited the particular quality. What qualities do you admire most in others? Scrapbook about these traits as well. Pull in a photo or two of the people who consistently show the traits you admire. What traits do you believe will make a great character? Scrapbook about the values and principles that you've adopted and believe will guide you and your future generations in their lives. What are your priorities in life and how do your priorities affect you as a person? Homemaker "The most important work you and I will ever do will be within the wall of our own homes."
- Harold B. Lee This theme will open up your eyes to the importance of having a capable homemaker to ensue an orderly and well-run household. If you are a homemaker, you need to see for yourself the value in what you're doing on scrapbook pages. Remember, you're a marvel for pouring love and efforts into transforming a house into a home that radiates security, warmth and comfort to all those who's living in there. What do you do to keep your house in such a well-maintained condition? Scrapbook about the ways and methods you poured yourself into making your house a success. How do you manage to cleverly schedule your daily routine in such a smooth manner, even when it's peppered with hundred and one errands to run? Describe your daily crazy schedule in fine details, flavored with meal preparations, household chores, family activities, and peppered with occasional hiccups here and there. What books, websites or perhaps mentors who have given you inspirations and ideas on maintaining a well-run home? How about scrapbooking about the ideal home you'll like to create? What about your latest home-decorating project? Remember the home parties you so lovingly and painstakingly put together for your kids on top of being a wonderful homemaker? Put these down too. Working Woman "Work is the meat of life, pleasure the dessert."
- Bertie Charles Forbes A part of your self-confidence as a person stems from how well you're doing in your job. For some of you, your work may well form a very fulfilling part of your life. When this happens, what do you do? You scrapbook about your work! What aspects of your job do you find most challenging? What do you appreciate about your current job? Your likes and dislikes of your job duties. Your choice of a job also speaks of your talents and interests, so go into the fine details of your current job. Empower yourself by scrapbooking about the important projects or long-term goals you have for your work. Did you hold different jobs through the years? Scrapbook on the job duties you've handled at each job. List down your wages and benefit packages. What do you like best about each job? What have you learned at each job? Scrapbook about the employers, colleagues or people who influenced the way you worked. Did someone teach you something valuable about work excellence or how to become a more efficient worker? Any pleasant and memorable memories with your colleagues or the people you've met at work? What do you hope to accomplish in your job? What's your definition of work success and have you achieved the job success you're seeking for? Scrapbook about these too. Reinventor "In the pursuit to better ourselves we are sure to encounter failure. Going on after each failure is how character is built." - Allan L. Barr This is an interesting theme to explore and scrapbook about. You're unlikely to be stagnant and will undergo the continual motion of change. Are you a person who believes in personal self-growth? Do you constantly seek out opportunities to reinvent your life and better yourself as a person? Then have a ball scrapbooking on these ideas! What steps had you taken or are taking to reinvent yourself? What aspects of your life do you most wish to change or reinvent? Describe the times in your life where you've experienced the greatest growth. Describe the toughest thing you've ever done, and would you have done it any differently now? What failures have you gone through in life? What's the good things you've learned from your failures? Usually, failures offer you opportunities for growth. How about the missed opportunities in your life. What other options did you take up instead? Would you have grabbed the missed opportunities on hindsight? What are the best pieces of self-improvement advice you've receive from others? Describe your ideal self. What are the qualities that your ideal self possesses? How would she behave and act? Dreamer "Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly."
- Langston Hughes Do you still have dreams? Or are your dreams long-buried somewhere because you don't believe in having dreams anymore? Or are you too caught up with life to think about your dreams? I remember someone once mentioned that if we don't know what our dreams are, then how do we know we've reached them when we did? Isn't that an awakening statement? Like they said, we'll only pass by this life only once, so let's dig out your long forgotten dreams and make a leap for them. Here's some ideas to help you along in scrapping about your dreams. Make a list of the top 10 goals you'll like to accomplish this year. How about the top 20 dreams you'll like to see fulfilled in your lifetime? Somehow, seeing these goals on scrapbook pages clarifies them in your mind. What are the sights that you most desire to see? Countries that you most want to travel to? China? Russia? Exotic Asia? What hobbies or crafts you've been longing to learn or pick up? Professional photography? Card-making? Playing piano? Any keep fit or weigh loss goals to work towards your dream figure? Toning up your flabby arms? Finally having a flat tummy? What's your dream house like? Where will it be located? Who'll be living in the house with you? A white two-storey terrace house facing the beautiful, blue sea? Any dreams of going back to school? What courses have you been thinking of taking up to upgrade yourself? A master degree? Learning to write effective sales copy? What acts of generosity will you perform when you're rich with money? $100,000 to your favorite charity? An all-inclusive trip to the Anguilla beaches for your whole family? If you've failed in making your dreams come true in the past, why do you think you've failed then? What steps could you take to overcome these obstacles? My Favorites One ought every day at least to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe This theme is inspired by the song, "My Favorites Things" from the classic movie, "The Sound of Music". You'll have unique and different tastes and styles from the rest of the population. Occasionally, you'll have the good fortune to find someone who shares similar favorite things. This is an absolutely fun theme to scrapbook about and yet it says so loudly of what you are. Make a list of your top 25 favorite things in your life. Favorite colors, movies, music, books, food, desserts, ice-cream, brand of apparel, hair shampoo, body lotion, restaurants, hangouts, quotes, poems, sayings, persons, authors, composers, bands, musicals, shoes, bags, etc. This list is practically endless. Another method to help you narrow down is probably to think about what things you couldn't live without! ;-) Alright, hope that these themes have ignited your imagination for more themes to scrapbook about yourself. Happy scrapping! About the Author:

Samsung X830 - Play More - Play stylish!
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Adam_Caitlin]Adam Caitlin Once upon a time, mobile phones could only play off-key ringtones only. At that time if anyone would have thought of musical mobile phones, it was dismissed as gross exaggeration. But the story is changed now. In the recent times, with the deluge of music phones in the market, one can simply wait in awe for the next dish that would be served. One of the most significant launch in this genre was Samsung X830. The phone enamours the onlookers with its trendy design, neat functionalities and usability. At first glimpse it looks like an iPod. There is a click wheel under the screen, and remaining a bare space. The Samsung X830 comes with a swing open mechanism, revealing a rather unconventional keypad, with just two rows. The swing mechanism might have been pioneered by Motorola, but Samsung has surely improvised on that. The swing mechanism not only makes the phone compact, it also makes the phone stylish. Since, music has been its forte, it would be quite apt to say that Samsung X830 acts as a personal juke box. The device is empowered with a highly capable music player, that can play all popular music formats, including MP3, WMA and AAC. The click is highly sensitive and responsive, while the user interface takes care of every necessity of the music freaks. 3D sound and support for a stereo Bluetooth headset adds to the thrill, while, the advantage of USB 2.0 connectivity and Bluetooth allows for speedy transferring of music. 1 GB of memory offers enough scope to download and store more music. The Samsung D900 has Windows Media DRM. Through this, the users are entitled to transfer and play tracks that are bought from music sites like Napster. Other features of Samsung X830 includes 1.3 Megapixels camera with video recorder, a speaker phone, fast internet access via EDGE, JAVA games, 64 Mp3 ringtones and Tri-band network. The Nature And Importance Of Cash
By Michael Russell It is the beginning and the end of the accounting business cycle (cash-inventory-sales-cash) and the lifeblood of the business organism. It is the function of management to ensure that sufficient cash is available to meet the needs of the enterprise. A sound cash flow is the basis for a financially healthy enterprise. Nearly all the transactions that are recorded involve a flow of cash either to the enterprise (a receipt) or from the enterprise (a payment). The cash flow generated by some transactions is not immediate, but will take place at a later stage, for example stock bought on credit. Cash may be defined as any legal medium of exchange that is immediately negotiable and free of restrictions. It includes coins, notes, cheques, postal orders, savings deposits and bank deposits. An essential requirement is that it must be immediately available as legal tender; therefore, loans to employees, postage stamps and fixed period deposits cannot be regarded as 'cash' for accounting balance sheet purposes since they are subject to conversion before they are available as cash. Because cash is the most liquid asset, it is the most easily misused. Therefore, every enterprise must have an effective internal accounting control system for cash. In smaller enterprises, the owner or manager usually exercises personal control over all cash transactions. In larger enterprises, however, it is impossible for one person to exercise individual control; therefore, the accounting system of the enterprise must be designed to include adequate control measures over cash flow. The design of this accounting system should include control totals at various points against which the accuracy of a series of items can be tested. A sound cash accounting control system should meet the following requirements: Employee' duties and functions must be separated to ensure that those persons who receive, pay out or handle cash in any way are not involved in the recording function. This prevents a person from misappropriating funds and concealing the fact by forging entries in the accounting books. The functions of the employees must be divided in such a way that, an error by one employee will be revealed by another employee. This means that the collusion of a least two employees is necessary if funds are to be embezzled. Cash receipts must be recorded in such a way that the actual cash received can be checked against an independent daily record. Therefore, a source document must be prepared as soon as cash is received. The source document should show the amount, the date of receipt, the reason for the receipt and, where applicable, the person who made the payment. Examples of this type of accounting source document are receipts, cash sales slips, invoices and control and audit rolls used in cash registers. All cash received must be banked daily and no payments should be made from the receipts. This ensures that cash is safe overnight and bank deposit slips serve as a control total for cash received. All payments except petty cash payments must be made by cheque. Cheques must be countersigned and supported by a properly controlled and authorised source document that serves as proof of payment. The functions of the employees handling cheques must be separated from those of the employees recording the transactions. Reduce Online Dating Dangers
By Lesley Chew Are you still seeking your soul mate?
Or are you just looking for friends with the same interests?
Well, online dating is definitely a great way to widen your circle of friends. It is really fun to meet many interesting people and sometimes addictive for many people. Some have even met their soul mate by meeting their perfect lifetime match through an online dating portal! It is just amazing the convenience and the benefits that online dating brings to the busy people.
If you are new to online dating, there maybe risks which you may put yourself in even without you knowing. Good thing you are reading this! Here are some dangers of online dating that you might face and what you can do to reduce such risks :
1. The very first danger of online dating is when you become a scam victim. Not everyone in the online dating scene is a good guy or girl. Many scam artists masked their real identity in order to cheat someone not only of their money but emotions, feelings as well. Sad but true many women catch men and ask them for money by giving empty promises. Then after the money comes to them, they disappear. There are even cases when men sexually assault the women when meet up for a date after they meet on an online dating site.
So, do not be over-credulous. The person who you are communicating with can write anything in his or her profile and he or she may not be whoever they tell you. In fact, you cannot be completely sure if it is a she or a he. In case you decide to meet your dating partner do some background checks. Moreover, to be safe, your first date should be during daytime in a busy public place. Better still, get a friend to come along.
2. Another possible danger of online dating is to give out your real address and personal information. Well, the person who is asking for your address might seem completely normal and harmless, you may even know him online for quite time. In any case, you should never give your home or work address as you dont really know who you are dealing with.
Thus, remember never give out your personal information. No real phone number or address. Some people do not even share their real name (as you can find the address and even the phone number using it), but use nicknames instead. If things get serious and if enough time has passed you may consider sharing such information with your dating partner.
3. Another danger of online dating is to get lots of unsolicited email messages. There will be many people asking for your email address in order to continue your relationship off the online dating site and only in a few hours, you will discover that you have become a spammer victim with your email box flooded with spams.
So, if you can stick by those general guidelines, online dating can be a great and safe experience. When in doubt, do not hesitate to consult your friends or families on what to do. Most importantly, never meet someone you met online in person alone without informing anyone else.
One final tip trust your gut feeling and never take chances. If your feel a person is right and genuine go ahead you might have found the love of your life. However, it is better to be very careful and do not rush things. Take one-step at a time and think over it many times before you actually do it. Supplementing with MSM: Your Ticket to Healthier Joints
By Judy Phillips The bulk of the research on MSM has been done under the direction of Doctor Stanley Jacob and Doctor Robert Herschler at the Oregon Health Sciences Institute in Portland. They have been examining the effects of MSM and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) for 40 years. In case youre wondering what the connection is between MSM and DMSOMSM is the major metabolite of DMSO with the added advantage that it remains in the body longer than DMSO and it does not produce sulfurs offending odor. Sulfur is as basic to life as water and air, and yet its value is commonly overlooked. It is the eighth most abundant element in all living organisms and plays and important role in human nutrition. As a matter of fact, it is an important element in more than 150 compounds in the bodytissues, enzymes, hormones, anti-bodies and antioxidants. Sulfur is stored in every cell of the bodyparticularly in the hair, nails and connective tissue of the joints and skin. Sulfur is an important structural component of the connective tissue that joins muscles to bones. What is natures richest source of sulfur? Answer: MSM Doctor Jacobs research provided solid evidence of the power of MSM to perform important tasks related to joint problems. Because sulfur bonds are essential structural features in all connective tissues, sulfurous compounds such as MSM have tremendous potential to benefit people with joint-cartilage degenerative conditions. Although it remains to be studied more, MSMs high sulfur content may also prove beneficial in treating similar diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and temporal mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ). One preliminary double-blind study conducted by UCLA School of Medicine and Dr Ronald M Lawrence, Assistant Clinical Professor of the UCLA School of Medicine, followed 16 patients with degenerative arthritis or joint disease. The patients who took MSM daily for six weeks reported an 80% reduction in pain. Only two of those taking the placebo reported decreased pain20%. Doctor Lawrence received the Healthy American Fitness Leaders Award, presented by the presidents council on physical fitness and sports, as well as the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. Before the dawn of highly processed modern diets, foods were an important sulfur source. Due to air, soil and water pollution, over-farming, irrigation, and deforestation, our food is severely mineral depleted. It is therefore very important that you replace these mineralsespecially sulfur. The best type of MSM to take are the raw crystals. It is the most bio-available and economical form. It is more economical to take higher dosages of pure crystals for therapeutic benefits rather than tons of capsules. Please make sure that your source is pure and does not have fillers as there are many sub par msm supplements on the market. Beyond the Traditional in Men's Wedding Rings
By Richard Keir It wasn't too long ago that the selection of wedding rings for men in jewelry stores was limited to gold and platinum wedding bands. But now, the selection of men's wedding rings is just as varied as those for women. The reason behind this big switch is demand. These days more and more men are looking for something different and want more than a traditional wedding band. If you'd like more than the usual plain wedding band, then take a look through this information about what is now available for men. You may find exactly the alternative you'll really like. One of the major - and most interesting changes - is in the type of metal you can choose for your wedding band. You're no longer limited to gold and platinum as the only choices for wedding rings. New popular choices include tungsten, two-toned gold, stainless steel, and titanium wedding bands. A tungsten wedding band is a good choice for a wedding ring because of its durability and quality. Tungsten, which is unalloyed, is unlikely to cause allergic reactions. But more importantly, wedding rings made of tungsten won't tarnish, are difficult to scratch, and have a natural shine to them. So you just can't decide between gold and platinum? Then maybe a two-toned gold wedding band is the answer! A wedding ring that features different metals with opposite properties appeals to men who are interested in a wedding band that looks good at both work and play. This type of wedding band is usually relatively inexpensive. Interestingly, stainless steel has made a return to the jewelry industry. Like tungsten, stainless steel is highly durable and offers a handsome wedding band for a man wanting a stylish wedding band but without frills and an expensive price tag. The new best seller in men's wedding jewelry is titanium. Why? The reason titanium has become so popular with men is style. Hammered titanium wedding rings are particularly popular with men because they have a rugged masculine look. Some men opting not to wear a wedding band do so because they feel like wearing jewelry is sort of feminine. But take a look at some of the black titanium wedding bands and you'll see why they are a big hit with men. Its color is an attention getter for sure, especially when combined with a diamond or other metal, such as gold. With all the new styles of wedding band available to men, bridal sets are becoming even more popular. This can be a great choice for couples that want to share the same wedding ring style. Another reason a couple may decide on a bridal set is because wedding rings are typically less expensive when purchased in a set. Then the only problem is for the couple to agree on a single style they both like. Copyright 2005 Richard Keir Richard writes on a variety of subjects for his own and other sites. Bring Back the Cilice Belt
By Annie Kaszina Among Dan Brown's many accomplishments is bringing the cilice belt to popular attention. Silas, Brown's tonsured hit man in "The Da Vinci Code", wears one and also flagellates himself with The Discipline, a knotted rope. The image of this tall, albino monk performing 'corporal mortification' is a shocking one that stays with the reader. Curiously, it was the image that sprang to mind yesterday when I was talking with a woman about the issues she is facing right now. Yvette (not her real name) is not, fortunately, at risk physically, but the situation in which she lives is spiralling out of control. Her emotional world is becoming increasingly tortured and intolerable. And because she objects to various behaviours that she senses to be fundamentally wrong, she is being blamed. She is constantly being told that her attitude, rather than the behaviours, are the source of the problem. Yvette is desperate to manage a dysfunctional situation and remain in control of her life. Her dilemma is this: if the behaviours are unacceptable then she is vindicated but powerless. Because they are not going to change. If her attitude is to blame, then she is, clearly, losing her grip on the situation but, theoretically at least, she has the power to improve things. Maybe this strikes a chord with you? Reassurance doesn't work terribly well in a situation like this, because if Yvette is right, then the situation must be worse even than she likes to think. (Actually, it's a perfect no win situation for her, because if the opposite is true and the behaviours are ok, to her that signifies she must be spiralling into mental illness.) And so it was that I suggested to her that she get a cilice belt and a Discipline and ritually flagellate herself. I said this not because I don't care about her situation and would wish any more pain on her. I care very much and would dearly love her to be spared any further pain. Precisely because I care, I wanted to give her a response she could work with. Reassurance wasn't going to do that for more than about 5 minutes. She met my suggestion with stunned silence. Then she started to laugh. The image was so grotesque that it was funny. And as she laughed she translated it into terms that were meaningful to her. Suddenly she could visualise what she had been doing, unintentionally, and it became repellent to her. Words are tremendously powerful. Words have the power to shackle and enslave you. The right words also have the power to set you on the path back to freedom and wholeness. Brain Injury Rehabilitation
By Elizabeth Morgan In the United States alone, over 1 million people each year suffer a traumatic brain injury. Some of the injuries are mild, but others require medical attention and rehabilitation. In recent years, many rehabilitation clinics and day care centers have appeared that focus on giving TBI patients full attention 24 hours a day. In some cases, rehabilitation can be simple. Patients are told what they must do, what medicine must they take, and what exercises they should do by their doctor. By following this advice to the letter, they can get back to being 100%. In some cases, rehabilitation after a traumatic brain injury is a long process that takes a lot of work and willpower to accomplish. The patient has to be analyzed before entering a rehabilitation clinic. This is done by several tests performed by specialized medical crew. These tests have to be completed so that a complete and specialized rehabilitation program can be set up for that particular patient. Patients with mild traumatic brain injury that hasnt had such a debilitating effect will often endure an 8-12 week program. Those with serious brain injuries sometimes never fully recover, although serious achievements are done through rehabilitation. These rehabilitation clinics are often very costly, and sometimes people cannot afford them. Often, certain types of health insurance or government funding can pay for the rehabilitation, but it is sometimes necessary for the patient to attend a research institute that provides free rehabilitation. These facilities apply new and unused techniques on patients and conduct extensive research on the patient during rehabilitation. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people that dont recover from a traumatic brain injury and even more that dont recover 100%. Many Horse Gifts to Consider
By Anne Clarke If you happen to know a horse lover or horse enthusiast, there are great horse gifts out there just for them. Whether it is a horse gift for Christmas, or a birthday, or just a little something for your self. The gift you choose will depend on the needs, accommodations, and personal taste of the receiver. Sometimes horse equipment is the best kind of horse gift possible. For example: equipment like new saddles and bits etc. will make great horse gifts when they are needed. Another practical horse gift for any horse enthusiast who is not too fond of little horse trinkets would be a book about horses. A book about horses, whether it is fiction or non-fiction would be my favorite kind of horse gift. I love to read and learn more about horses, and so will many other horse enthusiasts out there. Other great horse gifts for the horse enthusiast in your life include weathervanes, jewelry and t-shirts. My mother grew up on a ranch in Montana. She has had much experience with horses, mostly riding. But she always loved to watch the trainers working with the horses. Therefore she learned a little about how a wild horse is broken in and taught to live on a ranch like hers, or how a new colt is trained. My mother watched the births of many colts while growing up, and even assisted in a birth once. We still visit the ranch from time to time, but it never feels like enough. I think that having little mementos of horses helps her miss the ranch less. Or, maybe it makes her miss it more. Either way, when she looks at her horse statuettes or jewelry, a little smile plays upon her lips. Even though she has left her home in Montana and moved on in the world, my mothers passion for horses has not diminished. She went to school for business and opened her own store, where she sells mostly trinkets and antiques. You can tell from the appearance of the store that the owner is a horse enthusiast, because so many items she sells have a horse theme, like the horse gifts we give her do. She wears horse t-shirts all the time, many of which were gifts. And whenever she opens a horse giftupon seeing it she smiles more brightly than at any other time. The only other time I see that same smile on her face is when she is riding. She still has a horse of her own in Montanawhom she visits as often as she can. We have also dedicated time as a family to go riding every once and awhile here in upstate New York, where I grew up. Even though we do not have a ranch, it is better than nothingand it sure feels good to be riding again, for most essential and especially for my mother. I find that that same smile (or at least the same soothing, passionate feeling behind that smile) appears on my face as I pet or feed a horse, as I ride, or as I watch them run. As far as horse gifts are concerned, it is really a matter of taste. Lets face it, not everyone who likes horses likes little trinkets too. The products available for the horse enthusiast are many. It is my hope that some of the ideas above will help you to choose the perfect horse gift for your friend or family member who loves horses. I have tried to gather as much information as I could about what kinds of horse gifts are great ideas, depending on the horse enthusiasts personal taste. I have identified for you some particular occasions where a horse gift might be most suitable, and I have done it all with great care, because I want you to be able to find the very best horse gifts for the horse enthusiast for whom you shop. Anne Clarke writes numerous articles for websites on gardening, parenting, fashion, and home decor. Her background includes teaching and gardening. From Ancient China and India: East Meets West in New Anti-Aging Cream
By Jean Bowler It is interesting to see how scientists are combining ancient knowledge with the latest scientific breakthroughs to create truly effective anti-aging skin care products. This article will examine Avons Anew Alternative Night Cream, a wonderful combination of modern science and ancient wisdom from the Far East. It combines high-tech tetrapeptides with a unique blend of ancient Eastern herbs to reverse facial sag. I can personally attest that within one month my chin line was more defined, my skin tone more even and my neck noticeably firmer. The active ingredients, described in detail below, work to: protect the skin from inflammation caused by viruses, bacteria and fungi; improve circulation to speed repair and invigorate the skin; and control the bodys inflammatory response (as your own hormones did in younger days). Indian Himalayan Herb Protects Extracts of the Himalayan neem tree, often called Natures drugstore, have been used medicinally for at least 2,500 years. The tree is prized for its antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties. Anew Alternative contains extract of the neem trees flower (Malia Azadirachta) to prevent skin inflammation. Chinese Herb Invigorates The benefits of Szechuan lovage root extract (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Root Extract) were first documented in the Shennong Bencao Jing published in 500 A.D. (representing a compilation of herbal information believed to be 5,000 years old). The Bencao Jing is the earliest extant Chinese pharmacology tome and is still widely referenced today. Lovage root extract is known to invigorate blood and improve circulation. When applied to the skin, lovage root extract not only speeds healing but also improves skin tone. Tetrapeptides Control Inflammation and Allow Skin to Heal Finally Anew Alternative contains palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3. Tetrapeptides actually reverse skin sag by reining in the skins inflammatory response. In our younger years, the inflammatory response is a good thing. It is the bodys way of walling off an injured area and preventing spread of infection. When its work is done, hormones shut off the inflammation. However, as hormone levels decline with age, inflammation runs rampant. Older, hormone-depleted skin takes longer to heal and eventually doesnt completely heal at all. I find it very interesting that once you understand how skin care anti-aging ingredients function, you begin to realize that we are not just talking cosmetics and vanity, but that many such treatments can actually result in a better quality of life. In the case of Anew Alternative with its combination of ancient herbs and modern tetrapeptides, the result is skin that heals better and is less prone to infection. As another example, in the case of pentapeptides, the result is thicker skin that forms a stronger barrier against infection. Pentapeptides stimulate the growth of new collagen beneath the surface of the skin and plump out wrinkles from within. Pretty amazing stuff. How to Know If You're Really Compatible
By Peter Halpin Relationships with the opposite sex can be at all different levels. You can have a great friendship with someone, but not the slightest interest in romance (itd be almost like kissing your sister!). On the other hand, you could feel romantically drawn to someone because of their personality, looks, charm, intelligence etc. You may even fall in love and decide to marry, but its not until you live with them that you learn that they werent the person you thought they were going to be. Someone who was great fun at one relationship level (friendship, romance) might be anything but when you crank it up a notch, to a level where you have expectations of intimacy, fulfilment and having to negotiate with them on a daily committed basis. This article is about how to avoid the relationship minefield; how to find out what a person is really like when they know that no one will report on their behaviour. How compatible are you with the person you are with? How would you know? Just because you like the same types of foods and pets does not mean you can have a blissful, long-term relationship. Do you know why your mate does or doesnt attend church? Do you know how they really think about the way you dress? An estimated 83% of divorces would not take place if couples asked each other the right questions. You may have known of people who never told their mate about being arrested for molesting children, or that they were sterile or had a STD. Others have found their partners simply charming and seemingly strong and trustworthy, until they day they married, only to find they were controlling and abusive. It is so important to know the thoughts, feelings and desires of the one you are with. You want to know the things your sweetheart is passionate about. You want to know how you can give them much joy and happiness, as well as what irritates them and makes them feel blue. So you need to know the right questions to ask. The first thing is to make your list. Here are some useful categories around which to craft your questions:- Personality, Feelings and Emotions Favourites Pets Attractions Health, Food and Wellbeing Vacations Morals, Convictions and Beliefs Religion and Spiritual Matters Car & Driver Holidays and Celebrations Home & Home Life Past & Future Hobbies & Entertainment Love, Romance & Date Nights Friends & Family Communication Career & Education Money Relationships, Past & Present Children & Child Rearing Wedding & Honeymoon -- Sex Do not avoid certain questions just because you find them uncomfortable or even embarrassing. Break down that communication barrier and learn to be able to talk about those issues with your partner. If someone is unwilling to talk about certain issues, it should throw up a red flag for potential problems down the road. If you dont think a question applies to you, ask it anyway. Your partner might have some interesting thoughts on the matter. Be honest in your answers, but at the same time, you dont need to paint vivid details of any of your past mistakes. You have to live with these memories; dont make your mate have to as well. You need to use a certain amount of wisdom with your questions. For example, someone who has just begun dating shouldnt accelerate the relationship by asking questions about marriage and sex. If you dont think you and your partner are quite ready to commit to each other, it would be best to start off with questions about personality, your past experiences, favourites and perhaps something like pets. The best relationships are built on a solid friendship, so first address the questions that will help build that base. Dont be too specific with questions relating to sexual activity. While it is important to talk about your sexual likes and dislikes, giving too much detail about your sexual pasts can be harmful to a relationship. Your mate needs to know if you have been sexually active but does not need to know dates, times, locations, positions, etc. Want help with ideas for questions? Michael Webb has written 1,000 of the best questions anyone can ask. More details at

More Tips For The Wedding Dress
By Eric Hartwell Buying your wedding dress is a major concern. You should choose wisely and in good time. Plan well in advance so that it is not rushed or a last-minute expense. Also, make it your personal project so that you get into the details like a terrier. In this way you will get it sorted more quickly and more successfully. Don't forget the power of two or more. You are better off shopping for your wedding dress with a companion or two. Tugging a buddy with you makes this whole shopping ordeal more worthwhile. Also, you get the bonus of having another opinion in choosing your wedding dress. More on, your friends opinion is more likely to be more objective than what you have as they probably wont get overwhelmed by the beauty of your wedding dress that theyd end up disregarding your budget. Also, it feels so much better hearing compliments from another person other than salespeople; more so if they come from your friends. Try to give a larger piece of the pie for salespeople. To avoid feeling frustrated, its always best to let salespeople know a bigger part of the picture. They cant help you much if your descriptions are so general about your wedding dress. Let them help you better by confiding in them your taste, the designs you have in mind and the particular season you plan to get married. This narrows your search down to just a part of their wedding dress selection. Also, dont feel afraid about sharing with them the budget you have for your wedding dress. This is so you wont end up fitting in multifarious wedding dresses which are, in the first place, way beyond your budget. The worse thing than wasting too much of your time is blowing your budget for your wedding dress. College Loans - An Investment in the Future
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Bustamante]Michael Bustamante A college loan should be considered an investment in the future, since college graduates are more employable, and college graduates earn significantly more during their lifetime than high school graduates. Before choosing student or college loans, one should take into consideration all resources for funding this investment: savings, grants, scholarships, and federal and private student loans. Students have many options for funding their education. Many different types of college loans are available for undergraduate students, graduate students, community college certificate and associate degree students, training or trade school students, distance learning students, and students in continuing education programs. The task is finding the right college loan that suits the needs of particular students. Students must weigh their options and consider time constraints, budget constraints, and personal needs. Federal college loans come from private financial institutions. Federal loans have advantages over private loans. Students should seek out federal college loans before considering private college loans. Federal loans include Perkins, Stafford, Parent PLUS, and Graduate PLUS. Stafford loans are the most common of college loans. They are fixed-rate, low interest, and available to full time or half time undergraduates in accredited schools. Perkins loans are low interest loans for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need. Parent PLUS is low interest for parents of undergraduate and dependent students. Graduate PLUS loans supplement graduate students. Consolidation of college loans can save students (and their parents!) money, while in the process of repaying student loans. Consolidation loans combine eligible federal college loans into one, with a fixed interest rate and monthly payments. They can reduce loan payments and allow time for completion of a degree program and pursuit of a job. Private college loans from schools and private institutions can furnish funding after federal loan possibilities have been exhausted. Private college loans can vary widely, and terms often depend on credit history. International students are also eligible for college loans through private institutions for pursuing an education outside the country. All college loans have requirements and stipulations attached, and must be repaid following graduation, or termination of student status, with a six-month grace period. Be Happy...Be Knitting!
By Alice Seidel Life is good. We need to always remember that. Do something worthwhile. Learn to knit. Of course, when learning to knit, one of the first things you need to figure out is how to hold the needles. Knitters, no matter where they live, all knit in the same fashion. The only difference is how you hold the yarn, and in what hand. There are two basic ways in which to knit. One is the English (or American) way, and the other is the Continental way. To begin knitting in the English method, hold the right needle as you would a pencil. The left needle gets held between your left thumb and index finger so as to control the stitches. Some knitters like to knit close to the tip of the needle, while others prefer the safety of keeping the stitches further back on the needles. Either way is fine. In fact, some projects are easier to work close to the tip than others. You will find this out with the more patterns you knit. Your preference, your control, is what works for you! That's the beauty of knitting; finding your own way. A little bit like life. Keep in mind the word "loose" at all times, when casting on. It really does help. And you do want that foundation row to be pliable enough to work with. When you start to knit, hold the needles lightly, and don't let the stitches become too cramped or tight. If you are new to knitting, this will probably happen. Just unravel, and start again. Knitting should flow easily. Oh yes, there are those chunky, bulky yarns that are difficult to work with, so they will require greater strength from you as you progress, but that is normal to that particular yarn. Nothing should be so tight as to be impossible to work off the needle. If that happens, just go back and try again. And again. And, maybe, even again. As you progress, remember to control your yarn and stitches with your right index finger. Or you may use several fingers for control. This is relevant to keeping all stitches on the needle. Especially as you learn to include stitches beyond "knit and purl", such as "yo" or "k2tog" or increasing. You don't want to start dropping stitches or losing them from row to row. You know the deal; you cast on 43 stitches and by the sixth row you have maybe 39, so where did the other four stitches go? Remember, there is no one method that is 100% correct; if something works for you, then stick with that. Be mindful when making stitches; keep a steady hand on your needles, but don't grip them so tightly that you can't knit a stitch. Relax! It's only yarn. Knitting should become confortable to you, and in the beginning, it won't feel that way. That's normal, too. Only with lots of practice will you begin to form your own unique approach to knitting! When you attain that, knitting will be so easy to do, and ideas will pop into your head all the time, ideas that you can transfer to your knitting needles for creations like no other! For you will have found a gift, a gift which you can bring to the world! You see, in the yarn we knit is the invisible thread which weaves us all... one to another. What Are Payday Loans?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=T_Potter]T Potter Payday loans are loans that just about anyone can tap into. If you have a steady job and need a fast loan option, then these may be just the right solution for you. The loans are only good as your paycheck, though, so youll need to have a steady flow of income coming in. Heres how they work. How Payday Loans Work If you need money fast, these loans are ideal. You can literally contact the location, fill out some paperwork and walk out with the cash that you need. The loans work by requiring you to write the company a check that will be cashed on the agreed upon day. They provide you with the money that you need and you agree to pay off the loan in full usually within three weeks. On the day that you have agreed to pay it back, the location will deposit the check you provided. The check will be made out for the amount that you borrowed through the loan as well as the fee that goes with it. How Much Can You Get? In most cases, you can borrow up to 50-75% of your paycheck. This amount changes based on the company and on you. You may qualify for more or less depending on your credit history and your past history with the company. Also, you can find locations that offer no credit check loans as well. In fact, fewer companies are looking into the credit of their borrowers. Whats The Catch? If this sounds too good to be true; that is because there are huge fees if you do not make the payment on time. In some cases, the funds that you borrow through payday loans can be 200% or more if you do not pay them back on a timely basis. Many people find themselves borrowing time and time again not because they need the cash for a repair or for an unexpected bill as in the first time, but to pay off the payday loan that they have. Still, there are many benefits to using payday loans and you can easily take advantage of them. Written by T.Potter. 6 Ways To Turn Your Child's Rock Finds Into Real Treasures
By Candace Krieger The kids have been outside, and they have been at it again. Thats right, they have collected an entire bucket full of precious rocks, and now you have the unique dilemma of what to do with them. After all, you cant very well run around the neighborhood trying to sort them back into your unsuspecting neighbors rock beds. And it is very likely that the kids will inquire about their finds about 10 minutes after you toss them. So why not use those beauties and have some fun together with these activities that turn their rock finds into some real treasures. 1. Make a Pet Rock. The idea of a pet rock has been around for a long time now, but you can add your own personality and put a twist on this project. Wash off your rocks and then let the creative juices flow. Use any variety of pipe cleaners, feathers, paint, googly eyes, cotton balls, fabric pieces, and anything else that you have around the house that you could glue onto your new pet. Finish the project by naming your new family pet rock, like Slate for a boy rock or Rockette for a girl. 2. Make Moon Rocks. You could go two different ways with this project. You could use this as the perfect opportunity to do a bit of research into what actual moon rocks look like and imitate them with paint and glitter. You could also use your imagination and create your own moon rocks that have not yet been discovered. With some paint, sparkles, and glitter, you could create some very unique moon rocks that are just waiting to be found. 3. Make Rock Masterpieces. This project will require close supervision, but will be worth it. Start by preheating your oven to 250 degrees and washing your rocks well. Then bake your rocks for 1 hour. Take your rocks out and place them on towels. Let your kids wear oven mitts and color on the hot rocks. The crayons will start to melt and will make the drawing easier. When you are finished with your masterpieces, allow the rocks to finish cooling and drying completely before your kids show them off. 4. Make Rock Paperweights. With all of the loose papers flying around the house, a few fabulous paperweights will surely come in handy. This project is simple and fun for kids of all ages. Wash your rocks and place them onto a sheet of wax paper. Cut or tear tissue paper into small pieces. Then paint diluted glue onto the rock and stick on your tissue paper. You could also use this as a fun project to show your preschoolers how colors change when you put a new color on top.
5. Make a Rock Garden. This project will really live on since you will use live cactus plants. You will need a bowl or container that is big enough to hold the cactus plants and rocks that you have chosen. You can either fill it with dirt and replant your cactus plants, or you can leave the cactus plants in their containers and fill the bowl with some gravel or sand to keep them in place. Once your cactus plants are secure, use your rock treasures to decorate your container. Be sure to check the watering requirements for your cactus plants, since they will vary from plant to plant. 6. Make a Rock Souvenir. This is an excellent project if your kids like to collect rocks from different outings or trips. The first step is to fill a plastic container with plaster of paris. You can use whatever size container you would like, depending on the size of the rock or rock collection that you want to display. When the plaster is dry, pop it out and paint it. Use a permanent marker and write on the location and date of the find, and then glue on your rocks. You could dedicate a shelf in their room for their rock trophies. With these six activities, you are sure to have some rockin good times! Kids love to use the things that they find to make into fabulous treasures, and these are great ways to spend fun time together doing just that. Enjoy! Importance of Choosing a Wedding Consultant With a Complimentary Personality
By Yolanda Nash On your wedding day, everything should be perfect or at least, it should be as perfect as it humanly can be. After all, you dont want anything stressing you out on your special day. The best way to make sure that your wedding day goes as smoothly as it possibly can is to hire a professional wedding consultant. With a wedding consultant by your side, you can concentrate on enjoying your special day. You wont have to worry about anything but marrying your spouse and enjoying the festivities. However, you cant just go out and hire anyone as your wedding consultant. Even if she is the most celebrated and talented wedding consultant in the world, you have to make sure that her personality meshes with yours and your guest. After all, if she is cantankerous, difficult and rude to your guests that is what everyone will remember and talk about for years to come. It is as important to hire a wedding consultant based on personality as it is to hire a consultant based on skill and expertise. Wedding consultants have a reputation for being unreasonable and snooty. Just like any creative professional, some are but most are not. In general, wedding consultants enjoy their work, love interacting with wedding parties and guests and take pride in creating special memories. Just be sure you end up hiring one of the good ones! The best way to feel out a wedding consultant is during the initial interview process. Ask a lot of questions and gauge the responses to determine if there is a good fit. If she seems irritated by your questions or is blunt with responses, you can assume that this is how your guests will be treated on your wedding day. Find another wedding consultant and quick! Always ask for reference and then make sure you follow up and call the clients to find out how their wedding day went with this particular consultant. Ask the reference if she was patient, friendly and accommodating. Also, ask how their guests were treated by the wedding consultant. If you do not get the positive answers you are seeking, you should consider looking for another wedding consultant. When you interview consultants, be certain that she will be the one who will handle your event. Some larger corporations have several consultants and may send a junior consultant to your wedding unless you are specific. You do not want a stranger showing up on your wedding day to coordinate the events. You want the person that you interviewed and hired based on skill and personality. Make sure this is stipulated in your wedding consultant contract. Remember that if you are uncomfortable or unhappy with your wedding consultant on the day of your wedding, it will show. Choosing the right wedding consultant, based on skill as well as personality, will ensure you have a wonderful wedding day and memories to last a lifetime.
